Aaditya From New Zealand

Aaditya an Indian babe is living in New Zealand now. She loves traveling and she share her experience about New Zealand. Aaditya writes Mt Cook and the Southern Alps tower above Lake Pukaki in Canterbury on the South Island of New Zealand.
The scenery of the Canterbury region of the South Island of New Zealand is breathtaking as the snow-covered peaks of Mt. Cook are the perfect backdrops for the unique colored waters of Lake Pukaki. Mt Cook is the highest mountain of the twenty-seven mountains of New Zealand as it reaches heights of 3,764 meters.
This area is also known as Mackenzie Country with its high inland basin lying beneath the Southern Alps and Mt Cook. The vast landscape is stunning in the summer months as the icy peaks glisten in the sunlight and come winter, Mt Cook is laden with snow where skiers enjoy swooshing across the glacier ice fields.

In the foreground, Lake Pukaki is the second largest of three lakes that run along the Mackenzie Basin. All of these lakes were created by receding glaciers that blocked the valleys, which is why the color of Lake Pukaki is the incredible blue that it is.
The village of Mt Cook is a holiday destination where you can enjoy the high country atmosphere. Summer brings activities like hiking, fishing and swimming and winter skiing upon Mt. Cook is spectacular. The ideal location to get away from the fast paced city and really enjoy life.
